Good Shepherd Food-Bank Receives Wachovia Wells Fargo Foundation Grant
$3,500 donation made as part of the Investing in our Communities Initiative
Auburn, ME – Wells Fargo Advisors in Portland announced that throughout the holiday season and the coming year, Wells Fargo Advisors employees will provide support to Good Shepherd Food-Bank through a series of volunteer activities. A $3,500 grant from The Wachovia Wells Fargo Foundation has been provided to leverage their efforts.
“We know that many more of our neighbors have been hit hard by the economic downturn and our team members want to do what they can to help,” said Chad Schuman, Associate Vice President.“Our commitment to Good Shepherd Food-Bank will help to make a difference in the lives of many.”
The project is one of 200 throughout the U.S. managed by Wells Fargo Advisors as part of the firm’s Investing in Our Communities initiative.

“Good Shepherd Food-Bank can better serve the needs of Maine’s hungry this winter, thanks to The Wachovia Wells Fargo Foundation,” stated Rick Small, executive director of the Food-Bank. “The donation made to the Food-Bank and the volunteer commitment of the Wells Fargo team members in Portland will help us to meet the increasing need for food assistance in the Portland Community.”
Good Shepherd Food-Bank provides over 1 million meals a month to families and individuals in Maine through a network of more than 600 partner agencies. Partner agencies include food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, after school programs, day care centers, senior centers, and youth programs.
