Avon's Team Tanguay Celebrates Success
at Good Shepherd Food-Bank
Dan and Coleen Tanguay of Lewiston, celebrated with Avon representatives and customers at Good Shepherd Food Bank on Saturday, November 18th, to acknowledge their success of reaching Avon's Executive Unit Leaders level and to give thanks to the many people and Good Shepherd Food Bank, who have helped them reach that long worked-for goal. "It is because of every single one of our representatives and customers, that we are having this celebration today." Coleen said.
The event also featured a raffle drawing to benefit Good Shepherd Food Bank. The Tanguay's set a goal to raise $500.00 which will provide approximately $ 6,250 worth of food for the food bank's agencies. The winner of the drawing will receive (26) $10.00 gift certificates to redeem within each Avon campaign through 2007.
Coleen began selling Avon 5 years ago with hopes of being successful. Her husband Dan joined her over a year ago. "Team Tanguay is the name of the business because we really do operate as a team " Coleen said. The Tanguays agree that they are both self-employed minded people and both have found Avon to be a business that was realistic due to having no inventory. They saw the dream and the benefit of network marketing and direct sales and began building a team which currently includes 200 people who share their vision. "It's been a blessing to see lives change." Coleen said. Dan and Coleen's hopes and dreams do not include a bigger house and more toys but rather, their hearts desire is to assist missionaries and to become major contributors of Good Shepherd Food Bank. " We're thankful to have had so many people help us when we struggled with changes in our lives. We just want to be able to give back ." "This is just a way for us to say Thank you."
Good Shepherd Food-Bank is one of Maine's largest social service organizations, providing food to more than 570 non profit agencies' feeding programs statewide. Approximately 70,000 people are fed each month through their partnerships. Coleen is also a part-time staff person for the food bank, working primarily in the banquet facility.
