Valentine Gift Brings Extra Help For Bangor Residents

To better serve increasing need in the Bangor region, the Seeds of Hope Food Pantry has been presented with an upright freezer. This will enable Seeds of Hope Food Pantry to store & distribute up to 600 pounds of meats & other frozen product to better meet community needs.
The pantry began it’s mission in October 2006, serving approximately 70 people weekly 1,500 – 2,000 lbs food weekly. Director Isaac Mann says pantry is seeing 25% increase – new faces each week.
Good Shepherd Food-Bank’s Brewer Facility distributed 1.2 million pounds of food, and an estimated one million meals, to the greater Bangor region in 2007.
The Brewer facility currently serves more than 130 local hunger-relief and on-site feeding programs and agencies.
Throughout 2007, a total of 10.4 million pounds of food was distributed statewide to Good Shepherd Food-Bank’s 600+ member agencies.
