Thank You for being part of
the Good Shepherd Food-Bank family!
Good Shepherd Food-Bank operates on a budget of $1.66 million. With your help, we are able to meet our fundraising goal of $850,000. Please consider making a gift today to help support the tremendous work that is provided every day right here in our state!
Individual Opportunities
Volunteering: consists not only of sorting and inspecting food in our warehouse. It can also involve those who are willing to serve on our boards and committees, assist with events, and act as ambassadors for Good Shepherd Food-Bank. more>
Eat In for Hunger: Encourage and challenge your friends and family to stay in for the weekend & donate what they would have spent in a restaurant for dinner to GSFB. Do you plan to spend $50.00 eating out this weekend? We can stretch each dollar donated to more than $12.50 of food for a family! This could buy more than $625.00 worth of food for families who only dream of sharing a meal in a restaurant.
Pampered Chef: Are you hosting or attending a Pampered Chef show? Rounding up your order total to the nearest dollar or more helps Good Shepherd Food-Bank. In 1991, Pampered Chef Founder Doris Christopher created the Round-Up from the Heart campaign, designed to help alleviate the hunger crisis in America. Since the campaign's inception, nearly $10 million in donated funds have been raised to help America's Second Harvest affiliated food banks nationwide.

Food and Fund Drives: Organize and Encourage employees to participate.

Help Throughout the Year
Volunteer: Good Shepherd Food Bank is actively seeking groups to volunteer in our warehouse to help with our pre-sorting of incoming product. In addition, we are often looking for help with special events and thank you calls. Our hope is to rely on youth groups throughout Maine, in order to help us broaden awareness of the work with do in our state.
Bottle Drives: The perfect time to facilitate bottles drives in the communities is just after the holidays! Gather a group of friends and/or school peers together and collect bottles following Christmas, New Year's and Superbowl Sunday, summer gatherings or any time of year! Don't forget about approaching your local redemption center to see if they would be interested in becoming a preferred collection point. Many redemption centers are willing to kick in an additional amount to help the cause. Every little bit adds up to make a big difference.
